Application Scientist I/II - Biochemistry
Location: Wuxi, China
The successful candidate will join a dynamic team and be responsible for the following:

• Investigation of the effects of enzymes in the Fabric and Home Care application, particularly the performance of enzymes on solid surfaces and in cleaning formulations.
• Develop methodology for the understanding of enzyme-substrate interactions.
• Develop model systems for the evaluation of the performance of our products on real-world substrates and across scales.
• Work in an international and multidisciplinary environment to advance project goals and interface with the Genencor F&HC Business Unit and their Customers worldwide

The successful candidate must work well within a team and have a track record of working in collaborative environments.
Requirements:

• Ph.D. in biochemistry, biophysical chemistry, bioorganic chemistry or related field required with strong background in enzymology or protein chemistry
• 5+ years of practical lab experience in an academic, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology setting
• Strong knowledge of protein characterization and development of biochemical assays for enzymatic activity in simple and complex model systems.
• In-depth understanding of modern enzyme kinetics and  mechanism of action studies
• Strong modern analytical skills preferentially with experience in the analyses of detergent components is a strong plus
• Knowledge of proper experimental design and data analysis.
• The successful candidate must be motivated, creative, have strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, and be capable of working independently or in a collaborative setting.  
• Strong record keeping and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Chinese and English.
