Genencor’s Dr. Jay Shetty wins Award of Excellence
Dr. Jay Shetty, Research Fellow for Genencor, a division of Danisco, won BBI International’s prestigious Award of Excellence, presented at the 2008 International Fuel and Ethanol Workshop in Nashville, TN, on June 17.

Dr. Shetty is an expert in carbohydrase and other enzymes and has taken part in many important developments in enzymology and related applications in the grain processing area. He has contributed to more than 35 patents and numerous research publications.
This award, established by BBI International in 2000, recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the fuel ethanol industry through research, technical advisory and/or development activities. The award selection committee is made up of several industry and academic scientists and the selection is made among a wide cadre of candidates. | Based on Dr. Shetty’s outstanding contributions to Genencor and the industry, it was fitting that he won this award.
