The performance proteins and peptides platform is a new research and business development area for Genencor.

We believe that the biosynthesis of unique protein polymers can lead to a valuable product platform that can provide customers with materials that have unique performance features, such as:

• Low molecular weight recognition molecules that can displace antibodies 
• High tensile strength nanofibers that provide high surface area to weight materials for high performance filtration (as just one example)
• New generation of photo-active rhodopsin proteins that provide advanced materials for optical computing and solar energy storage devices
• Low immunogenic proteins designed using our proprietary i-mune™ Assay for new biopharmaceuticals
