Through this research and collaboration, Genencor has helped complete or nearly complete genome sequencing for important bacterial species, such as Bacillus and Pantoea.
This work provides essential information about how these bacteria work and how they can be more efficiently used to produce biocatalysts and biochemicals.
Bacterial sequencing may help us improve production capability for new applications, such as ascorbic acid (vitamin C) synthesis.
