Partnerships

Genencor works with industry players around the world to fast-track cellulosic ethanol to commercialization. This includes process developers working at lab scale to early adopters and demo projects.

Industrial partnerships
In October 2008, DuPont Danisco Cellulosic Ethanol LLC broke ground on its first demo-scale biorefinery and research facility, in collaboration with the University of Tennessee (UT) Research Foundation and Genera Energy, LLC.

Genencor is supplying enzymes to DONG Energy’s cellulosic ethanol pilot plant in Denmark.

Genencor is working with POET, the largest ethanol producer in the U.S., on its cellulosic ethanol technology.

Genencor has received government funding from France to participate in a research consortium with the French forestry industry to economically produce ethanol from paper pulp.

Government partnerships
The US Department of Energy NREL has supported Genencor®’s biomass enzyme research efforts for many years, including two rounds of funding for cost-reduction and enzyme improvement.
